Rooms · Floors two to five

Eighty-four rooms, five shapes, one long window each.

Every room in the building faces either the channel or the old courtyard. None of them share a wall with a lift shaft. All of them have a window that opens wide enough to hear the water.

Room types

Court Single

  • 19–22 m²
  • Sleeps 1
  • Courtyard
  • Floors 2–4

The quietest rooms we have, facing the brick courtyard where nothing happens after eight in the evening. A full-size bed rather than a narrow one, a proper desk under the window, and a shower room in glazed white tile. Chosen most often by guests travelling alone for work, and by anyone who has learned that a room on the street side is a gamble of its own.

Harbour Double

  • 26–29 m²
  • Sleeps 2
  • Channel view
  • Floors 2–5

Our standard room and about half the house. Two windows onto the channel, a wide bed with linen sheets, a bench for luggage, and a bath with a deep basin. Ask for a fifth-floor room if you want the light; ask for the second if you would rather not think about stairs when the lift is busy.

North Suite

  • 41 m²
  • Sleeps 2
  • Corner, dual aspect
  • Floors 3–5 · 6 rooms

Corner rooms with windows on two sides, a separate sitting area with a low table, and a bath tub set against the outside wall. The original fir beams are exposed across the ceiling. Six of these exist, and regular guests tend to book them a season ahead.

Long Room

  • 52–68 m²
  • Sleeps 2–4
  • Channel, full width
  • Fifth floor · 3 rooms

Three former grain lofts running the depth of the building, with five windows apiece and a ceiling of nearly four metres. A separate bedroom, a sitting room that seats six, and a second washroom. Suitable for two couples travelling together, or for a family who want the children asleep behind a door.

Quay Accessible

  • 32 m²
  • Sleeps 2
  • Channel view
  • Second floor · 4 rooms

Step-free from the front door through to the wet room, with a 90 cm clear door width, a roll-in shower, fold-down seat, grab rails on both sides of the bed and an emergency pull to the front desk. Two of the four connect to a Harbour Double for a travelling companion. Tell us your requirements when you book and we will confirm the exact dimensions in writing.

What we leave out, on purpose

There are no gaming terminals, screens or wagering apps in the rooms, and nothing on the room key or the door hanger advertises the floor downstairs. Guests staying here for the water and the sauna should be able to forget the licence exists. If you want to know more about it, everything is set out on the Evenings page.

Housekeeping and hours

Arrival

Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 12:00. Bags held before and after at no charge. Late arrivals are expected — the porter is at the desk all night and the kitchen leaves out bread, cheese and soup until two.

Service

Rooms are serviced daily between 09:00 and 14:00, or skipped entirely if you hang the card. Stays over three nights get a full linen change on the fourth day. Laundry back within a day, pressing within four hours.

Quiet

Quiet hours run 22:30 to 07:30 across all sleeping floors, and we enforce them. Groups taking more than six rooms are placed on the courtyard side. Children are welcome in the house and in both restaurants.
